The Generac Whole House Surge Protector has a NEMA 4x enclosure for installation indoors or out. It installs** in the main service panel or service rated transfer switch. Thermally protected Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) activate when voltage rises above 150/300 Volts AC. When a power surge traveling the lines reaches your home, the MOVs redirect the surge voltage to ground, preventing it from entering your home and causing damage
